Hello & thanks for stopping by! I have enjoyed a long career performing popular music dating back to 1970 as a member or leader of numerous touring lounge, dance and show bands. Those delightful years where spent loading my musical toolbox with the skills I call upon today. Now I play for the love for making music and sing solely for the sake of self expression. It’s a natural coming of age (albeit old) where I strive to cut through the fluff and deliver each song from it’s heart.
I find that the best, most finely crafted songs are timeless and the closer you can get to the composer’s original concept the more real and valid the art becomes. Rather than just copying what’s on the record I try to visualize that moment when the composer created something from nothing, that point at which the song was most open to the creative process. Then I can best deliver his or her picture from my point of view. When I discovered how satisfying and liberating this approach can be I became energized with the goal of putting together a performance to share.”
